BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT

BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT

WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?

Brazilian Butt Lifts — also referred to as buttock augmentation — involves liposculpture and fat transfer to lift, increase volume, and increase the projection of the buttock while contouring the waist.

BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION OVERVIEW

The procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia or heavy sedation, and typically lasts 4 to 5 hours. Small cannulas are inserted thru tiny incisions to remove fat by gentle liposuction. Areas for fat collection include the abdomen, thighs, back, or arms, which also improves the contour of these areas. The fat cells are then carefully placed into the buttock thru tiny incisions. Additional sculpting by liposuction of the waist and abdomen further enhances the appearance of the buttock region and gives a more hour glass figure. A compression garment is then applied and must be worn for 6 weeks. Some patients require an overnight stay in the hospital for comfort.

BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION RISKS

Most common risks of butt augmentation are swelling, pain and bruising. Risks associated with liposuction and blood clots are rare if done by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon using safe techniques. Additional surgical risks will be discussed in consultation.

RESULTS FROM BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION

Patients can expect a youthful and perky appearance to the buttock. The results are long-lasting, using your own body fat. An added benefit is the removal of unwanted fat from another body area, improving your overall shape.

RECOVERY FROM BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT SURGERY

Patients typically experience pain, swelling, and bruising. To minimize risk of blood clots, patient begin light activity on the same day of surgery. Most patients return to work in 1-2 weeks. Garments are worn for 6 to 8 weeks. Exercise is permitted 6 weeks after surgery. Patients are asked to avoid direct pressure on the fat grafted region for 2-3 weeks. Swelling subsides over the next 3 to 6 months.

WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR GLUTEAL AUGMENTATION SURGERY?

Healthy patients with a desire to enhance the volume and shape of their buttock are good candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery. Extremely thin patients are poor candidates, as the fat transfer is required for this procedure.
